Today we'll learn how to achieve the above effect without the use of a plug-in.
Select the Text tool icon. Click the Color Picker in the Text palette and change the RGB to R: 240, G: 227, B: 28. You may use any color you wish, but I'm using gold for this example. Select a large font, I used Arial Black 72 point. Type out your text.
Click the color picker on the toolbar, and set the same color as
above. Click the Shapes icon
, and drag out a box directly over your text, but about 10 pixels larger in
every direction. Right click this box and click, Send to Back.
Select both sprites now, by dragging a box around both of them.

Click the Effects tool icon
. Select Bas Relief, Details tab. Set the following
numbers: Detail: 13, Light Position: Bottom, Smoothness: 3, and the
opacity slider: 100. With your sprites selected, click Apply. De-select the sprites
by clicking anywhere off them and then drag the text sprite away from the rectangle.

Select the Poster effect, Details tab and set the following: Edge thickness: 10, Edge intensity: 10, Posterization: 2, opacity slider: 100. Click Apply.

Finally, select the Drop Shadow effect, Details tab and set the following: Distance: 3, Angle: 270, Opacity slider: 100, Softness: just a little bit more to the left than the default position. Click Apply. And there you have it.

Do the happy dance!
